Hi Everyone
I have a card for you today using another of the fabulous
stamps from Carabelle Studio,
one that up until today I hadn’t previously inked
up. So I would like to share
with you this first outing of it.
Here’s What I Did:-
I have
my created my card on one piece of mixed media card using masking techniques.
I
begin by stamping the main image with archival ink. Once the ink has completely
dried I then covered the image by painting on masking gum. I then took the
recently released stencil Stencil Girl designed by Seth Apter and wanted to use
it as a stamp. For this technique you use the reverse of the stencil so that
the words are the right way around when you place it on your card. I lightly
spritzed the back of the stencil with water and then sprinkled on Infusions and
then lightly sprayed the stencil again. I then carefully positioned the stencil
by laying it colour side down over my image. I then laid a piece of kitchen
roll over it and pressed down, the kitchen roll picks up any of the colour that
seeps under the stencil and helps give a clean reproduction of the stencil. I
then removed the stencil and allowed the Infusions to dry naturally.
I then
stencilled the sun rays on using Distress inks and added some stars stamped in
teal. Before removing all the masking gum make sure that everything is
completely dry and you have no stray Infusions crystals that could damage the
image underneath. Rub off the masking gum.
I then
coloured the image using first a layer of Distress inks used as water colours
and then coloured pencils to add some depth to the image.
Finally
I added the sentiment which is from the same set as the main image. Matted onto
black card and an 8’ x 8’ card blank.

Taches et Background
PaperArtsy Infusions – A Bit Jaded, Lemoncello, Sunset Beach
