Royal Blood by Lynne Moncrieff

I’ve not been in cardmaking mode but when I had some of my PaperArtsy Lynne Perrella Collection stamps out for other projects, I thought I’d make this card.

One colour of Infusion, Royal Blood was used to colour watercolour paper for the background panel and stamped focal and element, used with a Dinky Stencil and I also incorporated mop-up papers. Little pots of magic!

Supplies

Martha Stewart Metallic Craft Acrylic – Rust and Copper Rose
Extras:- Various mop up papers, copper coloured fabric, rusty tin wire
Dresden Trim (Prima) – substitute with die cut

Instructions

After applying Infusions to watercolour paper panel, stamp script. Working on a craft sheet, lightly mist the Infusion and with a foam brush or cosmetic sponge, pick up a little of the colour (you can dab off any excess onto kitchen paper towel) then apply to the Distressed Harlequin stencil. Once dry, adhere panel to cardbase.

Onto a piece of watercolour paper, apply Infusions (I also applied a touch of Memory Hardware Powder as I happened to have a little on my craft sheet at the time – yes, this is generally how I work!). Stamp LPC image and ink up a wee element from one of the other stamps from this set. I only partially used the main focal image instead of working with the full stamp.

I incorporated dried mop-up papers – kitchen paper towel and some leftover scraps from other projects. If you don’t have any, simply apply Infusions and metallic paints to various papers. A mixture of textures is always interesting.

Layer stamped images and the various mop up papers. I also added a teeny piece of resin paper and a piece of beautiful copper coloured fabric I was lucky enough to receive from my friend Dorthe.

A couple of final touches to embellish the focal image:- apply Rust Paste to a piece of Dresden Trim (or die-cut) and coil rusty tin wire.

Until next time

Wishes
Lynne

  4. Absolutely stunning! Lynne, I so appreciate your step-by-step details for making this fabulous card. You know card-making is in my blood! LOL This is such a beautiful image. I have several of Lynne Perrella's stamps which I love to use. You always do an incredible amount of work on your backgrounds and they are always beautiful. I have tried to follow through on similar projects, but yours always out shine mine! Your use of all the little "mop-up" pieces always comes out with glowing success. Thank you for sharing with us! inkybru xx

  7. Dear Lynne this is stunning, your mop up papers, and the Dresden trim ( thought it was a piece of lace ) looking so much like fabric after adding the rust paste , and the papers gets a total other fabric feeling with the layered, mopped up colors, wow, it is fantastic. The wonderful stamp with a hint of the Royal Blood infusion, matching the stenciling and papers beautifully. Such a gorgeous art piece !!! xxx
