I'll Bring You Flowers by Debs Wainwright

Hello everyone, Debs here with another journal page. I just love playing in my journal, and with this page I show how you can transform a page from something that isn't working for you to something that does. Don't ever give up on a page, because even if it's not working for you, it will at some point, and it can be quite simple.

Here's what I did

I chose my colours and with a texture brush added it across my page. I blended the colour a little but wanted them left quite rough.

I added some interest by stencilling and adding some script to the page.

Once completely dry I stamped my feature and dried it to set the ink. I painted the flower using water soluble oil pastels. I stamped the butterfly with glue and heat embossed it. I  cut it out, and  played around with it to see where it looked best.

This is where I got to and decided I didn't like it. I couldn't think what was wrong, I liked the colour but it wasn't working for me. I put it away and worked on other projects, until I came across it again when going through my journal looking for inspiration. It hit me straight away how I could change it, it needed colour!

I thought about it for a while and decided to use a medium sized heart over the main area of the flower as a mask, and sprayed some ink sprays in muted colours. I love how the heart frames the flower.

I embossed my sentiment and with the same crayons applied colour in an ombré style.

What I used

So next time you want to throw something away remember it's easy to change it.

Take care as always
