Hi
everyone I hope you are surviving all this rain. It's been very heavy here in
Essex, but it's great when I can get to the craft shed and listen as I work. I
guess it's the blue in the card I'm sharing with you this week that made me
think of rain. The card is in shades of blue as it is my Aunts favourite
colour.
Here's what I did
I die
cut some flowers out of mixed media paper and sprayed them with a mica and pigment spray. This left
a nice few beads if colour on the craft mat which I laid my background card
over to pick up the colour.
I
repeated this with a darker colour. I loved the way the flowers came out on the
background and how it shimmered from the mica. I sprayed the flowers and left
them to dry while I mounted my background with some dark card blue card and
attached it to a pre-cut card.
Once
dry I edged the petal with Distress
ink, I assembled the flower and added a
leaf. I painted some chipboard flourishes with acrylic paint as well as a die
cut Happy Birthday and a wooden 80. I added gems to complete.
This is what I used
Tim
Holtz for Ranger Craft Core Shattered Collection
Finnabair for Prima Alchemy Acrylic Paint
Tim
Holtz Die Tattered Floral
Chipboard
flourishes and die cut from my stash
I
really have started to enjoy making cards which is good as there are so many to
make each year. My Aunt loved her card which makes it worth it!
Take care
