This
assemblage features the most stunning butterfly from Prima Relics and Artifacts
with the addition of the face for a touch of whimsy. I had been saving this butterfly, maybe I am
strange but I love the appearance of the Relics and Artifacts just as they are,
that beautiful creamy white (yes, I confess, I am officially obsessed!). Flipping the butterfly over to work on the
rear allowed for the addition of stamping.
Just to
say that I used a That’s Crafty! plywood panel as my substrate of choice and
wanted to point out I applied the Infusions directly to the panel as I wanted a
diffused appearance but of course the plywood could be prepared with Gesso,
including Clear Gesso.
Supplies
Prima Relics and Artifacts – Butterflies, Facia Familiaris
Extras
– Black Stabilio Pencil, Titanium White Fluid Acrylic, fibres/fabric scraps
Instructions
Apply
Infusions onto panel, generously misting with water. Apply the same colours to the butterfly and
paper/fabric/fibre scraps. Apply Frank
Garcia powders to face.
Onto
panel, stamp Hot Picks text with ink and Dina Wakley text with paint. Create splatters on panel and a border with
paint pen and black pencil.
For the
butterfly, also stamp Dina’s text with paint, edging the butterfly with the
paint pen.
Layer butterfly
to panel with torn, stained fibres. Partially ink up Hot Picks sentiment, stamping onto stained watercolour
paper. Adhere the R&A face to
butterfly, layering with stained fabric and fibres.
Finally,
apply white paint to antenna.
Now she
is ready to fly!
Until
next time,
Wishes
Lynne
