Hi
everyone,
Donna
here today using some of the new Jane Davenport goodies to arrive in the
shop…….and then quickly go out again!!
What to do:
I
cut a tag from Strathmore Mixed Media paper for this (using the Tim Holtz tag
and bookplates die) as I knew I was going to be using quite a bit of water. If
you don’t have the die, you can use a size 8 manila tag as your template to cut
around.
The
Jane Davenport face stamps are wonderful because even though you have the face
already drawn for you, there’s still enough left to do so you can make your
girl look completely different every time by drawing the hair or changing the
facial features slightly. Make sure when you add the hair etc to use a
waterproof ink pen for it.
Once
I’d stamped the face stamp and drawn her hair and shoulders in, I thought well
not pair it with my sea themed stamps so I used my fish, seaweed and starfish from my Marina set, all stamped
with black Archival ink.
Now
here comes the fun part, using the new Mermaid Markers!! This was only my
second play with them so I’m still getting used to them but there are
multitudes of ways to work with them. I decided to lay down a bit of the colour
first and then dilute it with a water brush. These colours are really pigmented
so just have a little play with them first before you do your masterpiece!
I
used one of the green shades to achieve the splattering and as a final touch I
put a word stamp from another of my stamp sets.
I’m
so thrilled to get my hands on Jane’s wonderful stuff as she makes creating
these dreamy, watery girls so achievable :)
