Dream On by Lynne Moncrieff

I altered a That’s Crafty! Door Hanger for a friend’s birthday. As she is entering a new chapter of her life I wanted a wee gift with positive words and imagery and I thought a door hanger would be perfect to hang in her art room, a place she hopes to spend more creative time.

Prima Finnabair Cling Stamps:- Don’t Forget To Fly & Dream On
That’s Crafty! Dinky Stencils:- Star Shower, Flight of the Butterflies
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics:- Snowflake, Lake Wanaka, Antarctic, Blueberry, Old Gold and Pewter
Wendy Vecchi Clear Embossing Paste (Ranger also have a clear embossing paste)
Stabilo Black Soluble Pencil

Apply Snowflake, Lake Wanaka, Antarctic and Blueberry to both sides of the door hanger.

Stamp focal image, twice onto tissue paper. For one of the images, do not ink up the Dream On text. Dip fine watercolour brush into water, tracing around the images to ease with tearing the stamped image. Adhere to each side of the hanger with Gel Medium.

For the stencilling:- onto one side randomly apply Star Shower with clear embossing paste and on the flip side apply Flight of the Butterflies again with the clear embossing paste. Once dry either highlight the stencilling by:-

. applying paint to the areas with fingertips
. filling in the areas with a Stabilo black watersoluble pencil
. with a fine watercolour brush, paint the areas.

Next, stamp decorative circles and text onto both sides of the hanger.

Onto scrap white cardstock apply Lake Wanaka, Blueberry and Antarctic. Stamp a butterfly, fussy cut, adhering to the woman’s head with silicone glue.

With the same paints, stencil butterflies onto white cardstock. Once dry, fussy cut and again, with silicone glue, adhere to hanger. The silicone glue provides lovely dimension.

To finish, lightly spray Brushed Pewter onto the hanger. Also highlight some of the decorative circles with paint before embellishing one side of the hanger with Mirrored Stars and pearl stickers.

Until next time,
