Fly Away by Donna Gray

Hello everyone,

Donna here today using one of the new Dina Wakley stamps. These figures are not only perfect for journaling but for cards too, as I’m showing here.

Here’s What To Do:

The background is a Gelli print using a Crafter Workshop stencil and DecoArt paint, brayer the paint on quite thinly, pull the print. I use the 6x6 plate size for this as most of my stencils are that size so they fit nicely.

Once you’ve pulled the print and made sure it’s thoroughly dry, take a black Distress ink and pounce the ink through on another Crafters Workshop stencil using the bird and the wording on that stencil.

Stamp the Dina Wakley figure onto Strathmore paper with black Memento ink and proceed to colour in with Spectrum Noir pencils, blending with the blender and stump’s. When you’re happy with the colour, cut out and adhere to the front of the Gelli print, I used foam pads but Cosmic Shimmer glue will do just as well.

Trim everything to size, mount onto black card and then mount onto your white card stock, adding a Tim Holtz sentiment for the finishing touch.

These stamps are so versatile and can be used in any form of your mixed media work ;)
