Send A Little Happiness by Fliss Goodwin

Hello there, I have a rather different collage style card for you this week which was inspired by the colours I saw on a scrapbook challenge and I thought they would be perfect for the lovely Artistic Outpost image that I wanted to use to make the card. I also wanted to give my Gelatos another airing and this project was perfect for them as you’ll see.

Here’s What You Need:

Stamps Used:

Kaisercraft Clear Stamps – Decorative Tape Pieces, Honeycomb

VersaFine Inks – Smokey Gray, Satin Red
Gelatos – Cherry Red, Lemon
Tim Holtz Idea-ology Chit Chat Stickers
Oval Die or Cutter
Ceramic Plate
Stiff Brush – I used a stencil brush

Here’s How To:

·       First prepare the background paper. You’ll need to decide which size die to cut out the Artistic Outpost image and when you’ve done this, cut an oval of this size out of scrap paper. Cut a piece of watercolour paper to fit your chosen size of card blank (mine is 8x8).

·       Using the craft knife, shave some of the Gelato colours on to the ceramic plate. Spray with a little water from the mister and stir slightly with the stiff brush. Mask off the area where you will place the image with the scrap paper oval and then apply the Gelato paint to the watercolour paper by using pouncing movements with the brush. Start with the yellow and then add a small amount only of the red.

·       Now add the stamping. First stamp on some splats using the stamp in the Artistic Outpost set and the grey ink. Follow up with the Honeycomb stamp in the same ink. Finally, add some patches of crochet with the background stamp and the red ink but do this without using an acrylic block as it gives a much more grungy effect.

·       On a piece of scrap card, stamp some of the tiny butterflies from the Artistic Outpost set with the red ink and then stamp quite a few tape pieces with both colours of ink. Cut everything out when it has dried.

·       Ink the edges of the background paper with red ink and attach to the card blank. Stamp the collage image from the Artistic Outpost set with the grey ink and die cut with the oval die. Ink the edges with grey. Arrange some of the tape pieces on the card as shown and stick the image panel over the top.

·       Stamp the Happiness text as shown and add some butterflies to the card. Finish off with some Chit Chat stickers coloured with a touch of leftover paint to tone in with the background.

Have a great weekend and see you next week.

  1. A fabulous card, Fliss. I love the gelato background and in particular the cluster of 'washi tape'.

  2. Love this Fliss, methinks those Gelatos that I bought last year sometime and have never used might just have to be dug out and played with!!

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment on our blog, we really appreciate it.
