Octopode Heart Hanging by Mandy C

White Card ~ thick card plus stamping card
The Octopode Factory Heart Flowers Stamp
Archival Black Ink
Distress Paints ~ Picket Fence, Iced Spruce, Mowed Lawn
Dylusions ~ Funky Fuchsia, White Linen
Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Mica Spray ~ Tarnished Gold

·       Begin by cutting your thick white card into a heart shape. I like this folk heart shape (I Googled a template).

·       Use the Iced Spruce Distress Paint through the stencil directly onto the heart shape.

·       Heat set. Spray with the Dylusions Funky Fuchsia and Mels Diner sprays.

·       Flick some White Linen onto the heart.

·       Dry with a heat tool. Then stamp using the script and the StazOn Grey.

·       I felt this was too vibrant so I added some Picket Fence Distress Paint to the heart, to knock back the colour. Dry it.

·       Use the StazOn Grey again and the chicken wire stamp add some random bits of stamping.

·       Edge your heart with the chalk ink. Set to one side.

·       Stamp the Queen of Heart, plus 3 heart flowers using Black Archival onto stamping card. Colour with watercolour pencils and cut out.

·       Cut a leaf and heart die cut out of stamping card. Colour the leaf shape with the Mowed Lawn Distress paint and spray with Tarnished Gold. The heart is sprayed with the same colour as the large heart (move it away from your images. I somehow managed to spray the queens face with ink!).  Dry the die cuts with a heat tool. Edge the leaf shape with chalk ink.

·       Layer your pieces up, firstly the leaf, then the queen, then the heart flowers.

·       Finally, add a word stamp that is appropriate.

·       Punch a hole in the heart and now it’s a hanging heart.
