La Vie Scientifique - A Tag by Fliss Goodwin

Hi there, I have a tag for you this week which uses some more of the papers from my project last week which if you didn’t see it featured the Stampendous Creative Palette which is a mono printing plate and is fabulous for making a batch of background papers. My tag has a Gothic flavour and came about because my secret vice (not so secret now!) is reading Victorian steampunk novels which involve vampires and werewolves.

Here’s What You Need:

Stamps Used:

Embossing Folder – Clocks or Gears
Distress Inks – Vintage Photo and Wild Honey
Vintage Trim

Here’s How To:

·       You’ll need a piece of background paper about the size of the Tim Holtz layering stencil and if you’d like to see how I made my paper last week then please click HERE to be transported. I used the stencil, which is a handy tag shape, to make the paper into a tag and then sponged Vintage Photo Distress ink through the stencil to give the clockwork pattern.

·       Stamp the winged lady on smooth card with the sepia ink and colour her with pale golden brown shades to tone in with the background. Cut her out then add her to a panel of deeper blue background paper which has been embossed with a clock or gear folder and the raised areas tapped with the Wild Honey ink.

·       Stamp the Vie Scientifique text on smooth card with the sepia ink. Cut out and sponge with Wild Honey ink.

·       Assemble the tag as seen in the picture and finish off with some vintage trim.

Have a great weekend and see you next week.

  1. Love the blue-green with the browns, makes me think of verdigris (not that any steampunker worth their aether would let their brass or copper tarnish!)

  2. Wonderful tag Fliss with beautiful vintage and steampunk look. Hope everything gets easier for you soon. Have a good weekend. Nicola x

  3. Terrific tag - love the steampunk look and colour combo!
