If The Crown Fits… An Altered Jigsaw Piece by Mandy C

Jigsaw Piece
Watercolour Pencils

·       Take your jigsaw piece and sand it down and paint with gesso. Alternatively you could use the Tando Jigsaw Tags, these are white and don’t need a coat of gesso.

·       Leave to dry.

·       Using the Midnight Blue StazOn and the Alice image with the crown stamp onto your white card along with the ‘Alice’ word and also the ‘If the crown fits’ sentiment. Cut out and colour using your watercolour pencils. When using watercolour pencils I always use a waterbrush. I couldn’t be without mine now.

·       Use the Iced Spruce over the jigsaw piece, blend with a tissue. Distress Paints dry very quickly.

·       Once the jigsaw is dry, use your StazOn again and stamp a background onto the jigsaw. I used the clock from the Artistic Outpost set and also the advert from the PaperArtsy set of stamps. Give the jigsaw a blast with the heat tool to set the ink.

·       Glue the images onto the jigsaw using Cosmic Shimmer Glue (best glue I’ve used!).

·       Take some Cut and Dry Foam and dab it onto the StazOn ink and edge around your jigsaw piece.

It’s finished now. What would you use it for? A hanging? Card Topper? Magnet? There’s a lot of things you could make your altered jigsaw piece into.
