Grungy Bag Decoration by Carol Fox

This week I have made a little bag decoration. It’s made with Grunge Paper and sticky back canvas.

Here’s how I made it.

·       Stick three squares of sticky back canvas onto Grunge Paper. I then die cut three flowers from this, you can also draw and cut the shapes with scissors.

·       Stamp the tentacle image from the sheet onto your flower shapes using the black Archival ink, heat set.

·       Paint the shapes with the Fresco paint, using a stiff brush and dry brushing it on, layer and mix the paint as you go.

·       Edge with the black paint dabber.

·       Using either a sewing machine or hand stitching, run a line of black stitching round the edge of all the pieces.

·       Heat with a heat gun and while still warm, bend the petals a little bit.

·       Layer up the shapes and stitch through all the layers to hold them together.

·       Add a short length of beaded trim to the back so it dangles down below the flower, add another short length to attach it to the handle of your bag.

·       Finally finish by sewing a button to the centre.

What I used

Fresco Finish Paints: Mocha Mousse, London Bus
Beaded Trim
Vintage Button

Hope you like it,
