The Early Bird? By Fliss Goodwin

Hello there, I have a very bright tag to share with you today which features one of the fab new Viva Las Vega Stamps that Laura recently acquired and I just could not resist the set with this rather quirky but cute bird. She looks to me (yes, definitely a she with those cute frilly undies and the high heels) as if she’d rather be talking to the worms than eating them – this is the reason for the title!

Here’s What You Need:

Viva Las VegaStamps – Plate 883 (will be back in stock very soon)
Archival Black Ink
Distress Inks – Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon, Black Soot, Mustard Seed
Tim Holtz Idea-ology – Crinkle Ribbon
Scrap of Sequin Waste

Here’s How To:

Dab patches of the pink, purple and orange Distress inks on to the craft sheet and spray with a little water. Swipe the tag through the inks to pick up colour and dry with a heat gun. Repeat as necessary until the tag is covered. I had enough ink left to colour a second tag and did this to save for another creation – waste not, want not!

Using the sequin waste mask, sponge purple and then pink Distress inks randomly on the tag. Use the leaves stencil and black Distress ink to add some contrasting leaves.

Stamp the bird image on white card with the black Archival ink and trim to a rectangular panel then add to a black card mat. Attach the panel to the tag as shown.

Add some black alcohol ink to the sequin waste scrap with the applicator – I did this without the blending solution for a more grungy, mottled look. Cut into 2 and attach to the tag with the Glue ‘n’ Seal.

Dye a piece of Crinkle Ribbon with the orange, yellow and pink Distress inks sprayed with a little water. Dry with a heat gun and scrunch with your fingers. Tie through the top of the tag and trim as necessary.

Hope you enjoyed this and will see you next week for my next creation.

Have a lovely weekend.
