Seeking Shrooms - A Panel by Lynne Moncrieff

Hello
Today continues the week of sharing projects with the most recent releases of That's Crafty! stamps.
I was lucky enough to receive the Doodled Shrooms. For my project, I selected one of the Shrooms, as the focal on an MDF panel.

Instructions

After applying Gesso to the MDF panel, randomly applied so that here and there, you can still have peeks of the MDF. Work with the Multi-Surface paints in a very diluted form, so they almost appear as watercolours, do this for each of the colours selected. Mix with water before applying the paint at the upper area of the panel, then generously mist with water, allowing the paint to dribble down the panel.

Repeatedly stamp onto the dried panel, one of the Textures stamp. The stamp brought to mind the gills of a mushroom. Once stamped, I literally scribbled with a white paint pen to highlight that texture, very randomly.

To the panel, I layered items I already had to hand, adhering a twig which was lightly rolled into remains of the paint I was working with - this is a way of unifying. A curl of book text was tucked beneath the twig.

I happened to have a piece of stained teabag which I had machine stitched for a previous project but my machine was not working. I thought to bin this piece but held onto it, I liked the imperfection of it so stamped the Shroom onto the panel, layered over book text which also had the Shroom stamped onto it.

To this collage, eco dyed handmade paper and a feather are what bring more textural touches to this panel with deliberately tearing and curling edges of paper.

The Seek Stillness Affirmation was partially inked up, only those two words, stamping onto scrap of margin of book page, attaching with Tiny Attacher.

Flicks and splatters of paint and the merest touch of white paint pen to the stamped Shroom, are the final touches.

If you have not managed to catch-up with the latest releases, there have been many new products, aside stamps there are new substrates and mediums.
