Capture Precious Moments by Dorthe Hansen

Hello dear friends, I know we are only late November but I had an idea with one of the Acrylic Uprights, for a festive decorated kind of window and it had to be tried!

I have taken photos on both white and black backgrounds, for you to see as many details as possible!!

Onto the acrylic panel I stenciled two Baubles with texture paste and left to dry.
The wonderful Christmas tree was painted white and then using the Poinsettia Tree stencil, I smeared the beautiful Metallic Gold over.

Here you can see some of the pattern

The Swirly Greyboard Reindeer was painted with Chestnut Brown and lightened here and there, mixing a bit of white into the brown, before drying. The antlers had spots of gold and I added white and black details.

Also one of the greyboard snowflakes was painted with Metallic Gold and after it had dried, I added Diamond Glace on top of it, using the Multi Purpose Craft Adhesive, which dries so perfectly clear! I also defined the peaks with a brown fine liner.

When the bauble was dry, I first painted it with Metallic Pearl and then used two of the beautiful Baubles stencils, to add patterns. It was done with the Metallic Gold, in which I sprinkled a bit gold glitter.

When totally dry I used the stencils again and a fine liner in brown, to draw around all the snowflake patterns. This gave a little more life to the panel.

To finish it all, the tree was adhered to the back of the acrylic panel and the star and deer to the front panel. One of Lynne’s Affirmations was stamped onto a piece of a glassine envelope, that she dearly gifted me herself and adhered to the front panel too.

Time for a little snowy weather - thinned White was added by tapping on a brush loaded with the paint and on the bottom I tried the new fantastic 3D Gloss Gel. It dries totally clear when added in a thin layer, looking like water on the acrylic and adding more creates beautiful snow, in between.

Then the baubles were hang from the tree, with two pieces of lace and a tinsel ribbon was added to the hole in the panel, after having punched a hole to the tree.

I hope you liked it and maybe followed me all the way to here!

Thank you,

Hugs and love

Dorthe

  10. Wow - your gilded tree looks amazing, and it's so clever how you've exploited the transparent acrylic. It looks great against both black and white, and I think it would also look amazing hanging in a tree!
