Angel Wings Wreath by Lynne Moncrieff

This project dates back to when That’s Crafty! showcased their MDF wreaths on HOCHANDA.

One of my favourite stamps to use for Christmas is Character Constructions The Bee Keeper’s Collection No. 7 which I incorporated into this wreath.

I worked with the smallest size wreath from the MDF Surfaces Wreath and Baubles Set. This is such a generous set as well as versatile. You could use all three of the various sized wreaths to form one large spectacular wreath or split the set up, making three individual wreaths and not only that, the set also includes MDF baubles, stars, bows! There is enough to satisfy the most ardent crafter in the run-up to the festivities!!!

Supplies

Character Constructions Stamp Set The Bee Keeper’s Tea Collection No. 7
Jump Rings (substitute with Idea-ology Jump Rings)
Chain
White Cardstock – scrap only
Extras: large flat back pearls, re-cycled silk sari ribbon, rhinestone chain, flower embellishment (from old sweater), jingle bell, pearl bead, glass chandelier drop, blue bead

Instructions

Paint smallest size of the wreath and various snowflakes with the beautiful Ice Blue. For the greyboard wings, paint with Ice Blue and the Copper.

Stamp Character Constructions woman’s face onto cardstock, lightly splattered with some paint.

In preparation of assembling the wreath, tear blue and ivory silk sari ribbon into thin lengths. Adhere flat back pearls onto snowflakes. First, adhere wings and woman’s face to top of wreath. Embellish woman with a teeny snowflake, with a rhinestone cut from rhinestone chain adhered to centre of snowflake.  Continue embellishing by layering a floral crochet lace detail to a painted snowflake, layered to a sweet piece of lace. Place this between the two wings.

Tie the torn sari ribbon into bows, adhere to wreath along with the snowflakes. At the bottom of the wreath tie longer lengths of sari ribbon around the wreath.  Stitch a jingle bell, glass bead and a crystal chandelier drop to this area. Layer two larger snowflakes, again with a flat back pearl in the centre. Adhere to wreath, this will also help disguise where the longer lengths of sari ribbon have been tied around the wreath.

Finally, create a hanging by attaching chain to jump rings. Slip a jump ring onto each end of the wings. Decorate the right hand side by attaching pearl bead to jump rings and finally, attaching more torn sari ribbon lengths.

The wreath is now ready to display in your home.
