I don’t know about you but when I get new stash I can’t wait to try it so when my That’s Crafty! order arrived I knew the toys were coming out to play.

I have a page in my moleskin Journal, I often use this to mop up left over paint and media, so I started with a page with a lot of yellow and some patches of red Dylusions paints.

To pull these together I used a kitchen sponge to drag orange around the edges and where there was no colour.

Next came some stencilling using the Tracy Scott stencil and grey paint.

To add more depth I used the tiny texture stamps from the Rubber Dance set in the Archival inks.

Next more stencilling with the red and orange paints using the Lin Brown stencil.

I stamped the bird and girl onto mixed media paper in the blue and green paints, being careful I to wash them straight away.  I heat embossed the small bird on the page and again on mixed media paper, and cut out just the bird and glued all of them onto the page

I stamped the phrase onto heavy paper and cut each word out and stuck them down, running watercolour wax pastel around the edges and also around my page.

A black pen gave me the line to join girl and small bird. A blue watercolour pencil gave me a shadow around the larger bird and the girl.
