To Dare by Lynne Moncrieff

00:00

I have worked on quite a few of the Arch Dinky Uprights so I was so happy to receive a large Arch Upright as a sample to create for recent HOCHANDA shows.
I was inspired by the That’s Crafty! stamp to incorporate a Relics & Artifacts Milagros.

To create the texture, I used Dinky Stencils on the arch, creating an aged, masonry effect.

Supplies

That’s Crafty! Dinky Stencils - Church Window TC065, Brick Background TC026
Relics & Artifacts - Milagros, Rising Spirit I
Extras:- Dresden Trim, Sari Ribbon, Rusty Tin Wire

Instructions

Apply Gesso and Fresco to Upright.

Apply Grunge Paste to Church Window and Brick – alternate the stencil designs, applying Grunge Paste only to upper section of Church Window stencil.

Once dry, with fingers, apply Frescos and Martha Stewart Acrylic paint, highlighting texture.

Apply Frescos and Iron Paste to Dresden Trim, edging the base with the Trim.

Apply Frescos and Infusions to R&As. Stain sari ribbon scraps with Infusions. Stamp the sari ribbon with the Inspirational Quote before tearing into strips. Wrap rusty tin wire around strands of sari ribbon. Adhere the R&A to the arch, attaching the wire wrapped sari ribbon beneath the R&A.

Stamp quote onto calico stained with Infusions. Cut into word tiles. Adhere to Upright.
Adhere R&A feet to base. They had some Grunge Paste swiped onto them before painting and staining. Layer the feet onto shreds of calico and sari ribbon which had been stained with Infusions. To enhance texture on the base, adhere a piece of mop up paper.

The Upright is now complete.

Until next time,

Wishes

Lynne
