Happiness in Bloom Tag by Fliss Goodwin

Hi there, I have a mixed media tag to share this week, which is very simple to make and features using paint on kraft, which I love and can never bear to cover up completely, so you’ll see it peeping out at each end of the tag.

Ingredients:

PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Acrylic Paints – Blush, Pumpkin Soup, Guacamole
Old Store Card, Paper Towel
Ribbon

Recipe:

Colour the tag by first applying tiny blobs of the pink and green paints to the Gelli plate and spreading them with the brayer. Press the tag on to pick up the paint (this will leave uncovered kraft paper at each end of the tag which looks fab!).

Next apply the orange paint to the Gelli plate, spread with the brayer and carefully place the stencil on top. Gently remove the paint from the patterned areas with a paper towel, remove the stencil and press the tag on to pick up the colour and pattern.

I then decided the orange pattern was in need of toning down a little so I used the old store card with the Salty Ocean Distress ink to add swipes of blue across the centre of the painted area, working vertically and horizontally.

Stamp the flowers and stalks on white card with the olive ink and add colour with the pencils. I added just a touch of colour to the flowers, as I wanted a strong contrast to my bright background. Cut all of the images out.

Add the flowers to the tag, gluing on the stalks and using foam tape for the flower heads for dimension. Stick on your chosen text and tie some ribbon through the top to finish.

It’s time for a new challenge at That’s Crafty! Challenge Blog so don’t forget to check it out at 8am for details of our fab new theme.

Have a great weekend and see you next week.
