All These Birthdays by Debs Wainwright

00:00

Hello everyone, Debs here with some more birthday cards, 3 in fact. Well, you can never have too many tucked away, can you?

Here what I did

Using a 2” silicone brush and acrylic paint in a mix of greens, I covered a sheet of heavyweight card completely. The brush is really useful as it makes a little go along way, or it can add a thicker coat, as well as adding texture and patterns.

Using the brush again I applied an even coat of Weathered Wood and once dry, I coated it with Tinting base, then dried it with a heat tool.

The background colours were created using water colours, loosely applied and blotted where necessary to keep it light.

I adore shades of greens and blues with all kinds of mauves and lilacs together on the one project. You have to be careful not to let the primary colours mix as you will have lovely shades of brown. This is fine if that's what you want, but I wanted to keep the colours fresh and bright.

In the photo below you can see how I have stamped on my background in a lighter ink, and the feature in black. Using a white paint pen I coloured in all the flowers to give them a base on which to add colour.

Again using the watercolours, I built up the colour of the flowers and finished them off with coloured pencils. The highlights were picked out with the white paint pen and blended to create some depth.

I repeated this process on all three cards using different colour combinations but basically the same palette.

While these were drying I prepared the cards adding a silver mat cut to fit just inside the edge of the card. I prepared the sentiment too. Once assembled, coloured pearls completed the cards.

What I used

Tim Holtz Craft Core Metallic
From Stash Card Blank
From Stash Birthday Sentiment

And here they are together again again

Well there's a few more to my collection, but I still need a few more so guess I'll keep on making them lol.

As always take care, hugs
