Always and Forever by Lynne Moncrieff

It is testament to the quality of That’s Crafty! MDF Alterable Surfaces that no matter the media thrown, there is no warping!

One of my favourite Alterables, an MDF heart makes an appearance. I hold my hands up… I am head over heels for those MDF hearts. I’m sure they will continue to make an appearance long after Valentine’s Day!

Supplies

That's Crafty! Dinky Stencils:– Hearts and Long Heart Background
Staz-on Timber Brown
Distress Stain SprayHickory Smoke, Ground Espresso
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish:- Vintage Lace, Nougat, Blush, London Fog
Extras:- Pearl beads, rusty wire, resin corner, Darkroom Door Photobooth (substitute with vintage photo or Idea-ology Photobooth), fabric scrap, vintage lace scrap

Instructions

Apply Gesso followed with Grungepaste to MDF panel. Then apply clear texture paste with heart stencil to right side of panel. Leave to dry. Once dry, apply paints and Distress Stain Sprays, highlighting stencilled hearts with Black Soot paint. Randomly stamp Messy Writing before laying panel aside for the moment.

Apply clear embossing paste and Long Hearts Background stencil to MDF heart. Leave to dry. Apply paints and stains to heart, edging with Black Soot. Wrap heart with rusty wire, attaching pearl beads.

For the MDF ATC with frame. Once again, apply Gesso. Create a distressed appearance on both pieces with Grunge Paste followed by paints. Onto the frame stamp Messy Writing and on the panel stamp Forever with Potting Soil.

Distress a Photobooth image (or substitute) then begin to create a composition. Tie a piece of fabric to the frame before layering with the vintage lace scrap, prepared heart and Photobooth image. Adhere resin corner embellishment to the Forever panel. Wrap bottom edge of panel with rusty wire, attach a pearl bead, coiling the wire around the bead. Adhere more beads to the panel. Finally adhere Chit Chat stickers.

Until next time,

Lynne x

  2. This is true love , meaning I`m all in love with this creation, Lynne. Your backgrounds are amazing with the scripture and many layers of paste and colors, -colors so very beautiful, and delicate. The wonderful (MDF) heart with hearts, is telling the story of a love filled heart all year round, and not only today on Valentines day , and tied with string of pearls and joy. It is stunning and you know I love the little add of lace and pearls, dear Lynne. So very adorable, my friend. Dorthe, xxx

  8. Lovely piece, full of the most wonderful texture! I have been totally won over to all kinds of hearts this year, having rather passed them by in years gone by! I really love the shape now and all the amazing things that can be done with a simple, basic heart substrate as you demonstrate on this exceptional piece. Yes, hearts are definitely not just for Valentine's Day! xx
