Steamy Heart by Donna Gray

Hello everyone,

Donna here today with a lovely new steampunk Carabelle heart stamp set which I’ve used to make a card for you, the level of detail on this stamp is amazing.

Here’s What To Do:

For this card use Strathmore Mixed Media paper as you will be applying paint and sprays to it.
Stamp your heart using black Archival ink, then taking a tiny blob of DecoArt paint, dilute it with a spritz of water on your craft mat and colour in the main body of the heart using a brush. Dilution means you’ll still see the stamp clearly through the colour.
Repeat the same steps for the light bulb and watch parts of the heart image using different colours of paint.
For the splattered effect you can mask off the heart but I like to make sure everything gets nice and grungy so I didn’t mask anything off. Use Distress spray stains for this stage and just spray away!
Take one of the new Dinky stencils and dab black Distress ink through it.
For the finishing touches, use some Tim Holtz paper embellishments making sure you stamp the sentiment that comes with this stamp set.
A little bit of Sharpie pen doodling, mount onto black card and then onto white cardstock and now you can steampunk up your heart!

Supplies Used:

DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylic Paints in Quinacridone Gold, Primary Yellow and Raw Sienna
Distress Spray Stains in Hickory Smoke and Ground Espresso
Hope you like it
