Flight of the Bats by Lynne Moncrieff

The Flight of the Bats is another wonderfully designed Dinky Stencil, truly giving the impression of bats in flight. I wanted the bats to really be the focal of this Halloween card, only adding a stamped Gothic window and sentiment to heighten the story.

Supplies

Wendy Vecchi Clear Embossing Paste (Ranger do a clear embossing paste too)
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics:- Little Black Dress, Snowflake, Old Gold
and Blueberry
Watercolour Paper
Cosmetic Sponges
Extras:- Gothic Book Text, Organza

Instructions

Apply paints to watercolour paper panel, aiming for a mottled appearance. Decant Old Gold into mister bottle (50:50 ratio with water). Mist onto panel. Adhere panel to cardbase.

Stencil Flight of the Bats onto panel with clear embossing paste mixed with Little Black Dress and Blueberry.

Onto scrap of the painted cardstock stamp Gothic arched window and sentiment. Stain Gothic book text with Blueberry.

Apply Little Black Dress and Blueberry to organza fabric. Taking care, heat material with the heat gun, stopping once holes have appeared in the fabric. Layer the fabric with the Gothic text, sentiment and Gothic window.

Finally, splatter Little Black Dress onto the cardbase and sponge Black Soot onto edges.

Until next time,

Lynne
