Dinky Delights by Donna Gray

Hello everyone,

Donna here today with two examples of the fun things you can create using some of the new Dinky stencils and substrates. I absolutely adore these Dinky stencils, they are so versatile and hardly take up any room to store also compared to other stencils ;)

Here’s what to do:

Take a white/greyboard panel and put a thin layer of Gesso on.

Apply a couple of blobs of paint to the board and brayer these on to create a random effect. Dry off and then spritz with a Distress Spray stain, allow it to form ‘runs’ down the surface. Dry off.

Apply the sand paste through the brick stencil, dry, colour in the ‘bricks’ using a tiny amount of paint on a fairly dry wet wipe.

Next, place your scaredy cat on the brick wall and apply crackle paste through the stencil. I tinted it slightly with black paint. Now usually you should allow the paste to crackle and dry naturally but I wanted this to bubble up so I dried with the heat gun.

Take the rest of your stencils and apply black paint sparingly through them, sanding them back a bit to blend into the background.

I drew the little spider and added one of Tim Holtz’s seasonal sentiments and there you have it…..get daring with a darling Dinky!

How about a CAS card? Using just 2 of the new Dinky stencils you can make this.
