Donna here today sharing a mixed media piece I created on PaperArtsy Greyboard using a set of the new Prima, Finnabair stamps.
This is what I did:
I took a piece of greyboard and then glued a page of text over it, for all my gluing I used Ranger Glue N’ Seal.
Then select all your bits and pieces, this is a brilliant way to use up those embellishments that are the ‘wrong’ colour etc or you can’t find a use for in their natural state. I used buttons, wooden hearts, washers and a pre made flower. Glue them all down, wait for it all to dry.
I also used dry wall lining tape on the background, its good to raid your local DIY store as there are so many things in there that we can use ;)
Then use however many coats of gesso it takes to make sure everything turns white! Put thin coats on and dry between layers.
I’d originally masked the image and then sprayed the background but unfortunately that turned into a disaster! In fact the image you see here is my fourth attempt….it’s not at all hard to do, I just made it so!
I then sprayed using a mixture of Dylusions, Perfect Pearl Mists and DecoArt Multi Media Sprays for the background.
The Finnabair images were stamped on thick, white card. The circles were painted with Luminarte Silks and the main image was inked with a couple of Distress Ink colours. The butterfly was mounted on rusty wire and twisted around one of the cogs (this was taken from a tape dispenser I’d finished with)
The finishing touch was a highlight of treasure wax gold….but any wax will do.
