She Dreams of the Ocean by Lynne Moncrieff

A whimsical project this week where I had fun with a Tando Creative Rowing Boat and ocean themed stamps.

Supplies

Oxford Impressions Stamp Sets The Deep and By The Sea
White Cardstock
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Chalk Acrylics:- Toffee, Jade (JOFY Limited Edition Set 3), Beach Hut, Space Cadet and Caribbean Seas (Lin Brown Limited Edition Set 3), Nougat and Caramel
Cosmic Shimmer Vintage Mica Flakes:- Luna Silver, Precious Gold and Tarnished Bronze
Heat Gun
Extras:- Cork, Star Fish, oyster charm, lace, muslin, pearl bead

Instructions

Prepare Rowing Boat with Frescos, working with Toffee as the base layer before adding the Crackle Glaze then mixing the remaining Frescos for the top layer.  Assemble the Rowing Boat then lay aside for the moment.

Onto white cardstock stipple Nougat and Caramel. Once dry stamp image from LPC001. Re-ink, stamping once more. Fussy cut shell from the second image and also cut her face on the vertical, layering both pieces onto the main image.

Continue stamping, this time the crab and starfish from The Deep stamp set. Fussy cut then ink the edges with Distress Ink. More stamping, this time stamping the sentiment onto cork. Then cut the sentiment into sections, once again inking the edges. Now, moving onto another different surface, this time the cream Tissue Stock, stamp seaweed and coral. By stamping onto the Tissuestock it lends a lovely floaty texture to the stamped seaweed and coral especially as they waft when a breeze catches them.

Now to begin the composition. For a touch of whimsy I added the crab to the woman’s head, creating a spectacular headpiece for her!

Embellish the artwork with scrap pieces of muslin painted with diluted paint. Along with the various mica flakes I also added an oyster charm, tucking a pearl bead inside and a lovely little starfish embellishment. Finally adhere the sentiment.

Until next time,

Lynne
