Shine By Fliss Goodwin

Hi there, this week I have a mixed media creation to share featuring my current favourite die, Tim Holtz’s beautiful layered butterfly and one of my favourite colour combinations, pink and grey.

Ingredients:

Carabelle Studio A7 Stamps – Journal du Jour, Background Papillon
Archival Watering Can Ink
Encore Ultimate Metallic Ink – Silver
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paint - Blush
Vintage Book Pages

Recipe:

·       Cut a piece of grey board to the size you would like and cover with pieces of vintage book page in a patchwork pattern. Brush on gesso using a damp brush so that some of the text shows through. When dry apply some of the pink paint with a baby wipe to give a rough, grungy finish.

·       When the paint has dried (use a heat gun if you’re impatient like me!), stamp on the journal du jour image several times using the grey ink, repeat stamping before inking for a faded effect. In the gaps left, stamp the butterfly background with the same ink.

·       Die cut the butterfly from grey card and dry emboss with the texture fades folder. Dust with the silver ink. Heat emboss with the silver detail powder.

·       Add the butterfly to the stamped background. Punch 2 holes near the top and add ribbon through to form a hanger.

·       Finish off with some small talk stickers of your choice.

You still have a week yet to enter our Gold and Silver challenge over at That’s Crafty Challenge Blog if you haven’t yet done so and there’s a fab prize of a £20 voucher for the online shop where you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Have a great day and see you next week.

Happy Easter!
