Keep Taking Chances by Alison Hall

Hi, Alison here today with an art journal page I made using Dina Wakley Paints and stamps, together with some fab background stamps from Stampendous.

Ingredients

Dina Wakley Media Stamp Sets - Woodcuts, Handwritten Quotes
Dina Wakley Media Heavy Body Acrylic Paint - Black, White, Sky, Lapis, Lemon, Ruby

Instructions

1. Cut a piece of white card to A5 size. Squeeze a few dots of Sky paint onto the card, then use the brayer to spread the paint. Squeeze a pea sized amount of white paint onto a craft mat, roll the brayer in it, and apply lightly and randomly over about half of the blue on the card.

2. Stamp images from the Marks and Wired sets using different colours of paint, applying the paint to the stamps with the brayer. I mixed Lemon and Ruby to get a couple of shades of orange.

3. Stamp the bird from Woodcuts three times with black paint, then use the black paint to stamp the three phrases.

4. Squeeze a dot of black paint onto the craft mat, mix in a little water, then use the paintbrush to flick some black splatters onto the page, tapping the paintbrush on your other hand.

5. Use the black Archival ink pad to edge the page, and you're done.

I'll be back next week with some more arty stuff,

Thanks for visiting,

  7. Beautiful, Alison - I agree with Patty that it's uplifting, but also somehow melancholy to me. In any case, I love it.
