Always There - A Journal Page by Fliss Goodwin

Hi there, I have a journal page to share this week from my new A5 size journal, which I can recommend to anyone who has yet to take the plunge into art journaling, as it’s a little less daunting to start off with something smaller. It might also encourage you, as it has me, to create pages a bit more often.

Ingredients:

Carabelle Studio A6 Stamps – La Femme Aux Oiseaux, Ombreline Aux Pistils, Reach For The Stars
Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon
Brusho Crystals – Lemon, Orange, Rose Red
Soft Pencil
A5 Size Journal or Similar

Recipe

Sprinkle the Brusho Crystals on your journal page, using more lemon than the darker colours but do remember with these fabulous pigments that less is definitely more, as they’re very strong and you don’t need to use much to give good colour. Mist with water to dissolve the crystals and allow them to spread over the page. Dry with a heat gun and iron the page flat if necessary with a dry iron.

Ink up the main collage image with the Archival ink and stamp onto the page on the left hand side. Stamp one of the smaller flower doodle images at random with the Spiced Marmalade ink and stamp a star near the top right with the Persimmon ink. Stamp the friends text at the top, partly over the star.

Add a little pencil colour to the face and the birds and add some shading with the soft pencil to finish off the page.

As you can see, quite a grungy looking result.

Don’t forget to check out the Challenge Blog at 8am as we have a new challenge for you at 8am and I think you’re going to love the theme of this one – I certainly did!

See you next week.
