Urban Butterfly by Lynne Moncrieff

I am lucky enough to have a few butterfly stamps but I was drawn to the butterfly on the Now Is The Right Time stamp set because of the urban feel to it.

The crackle tag is one of the surfaces prepared when I made a batch of crackle backgrounds so they would be ready to have to hand. It’s a great time saver to make several when you already have your paints and crackle glaze out to work with.

Supplies

Prima Cling Stamps – Finnabair:- Rust & Dust and Now Is The Right Time
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish:- Chalk, Lake Wanaka, Stone, Blue Oyster, Vintage Lace
Idea-ology Linen Ribbon, Tiny Attacher, Melange Tissue Wrap
Extras:- Rusty tin wire, vintage Bingo card (or use cardstock – I used the Bingo card because it was there!) and lace

Instructions

Apply small amounts of Grunge Paste to the Bingo card (or substrate of your choice).

Create crackle on shipping tag and Bingo card. I used Lake Wanaka and Blue Oyster for the first layer before applying the Crackle Glaze followed with Stone and Chalk for the top layer.

Onto the prepared shipping tag stamp backgrounds from Rust & Dust and Dina Wakley handwriting with Watering Can ink pad, also stamping the large butterfly onto tag.

Onto the other prepared substrate stamp elements from Rust & Dust and background stamp from Now Is The Right Time. Edge both surfaces with Black Soot before adhering tag to main panel.

Apply Lake Wanaka and Blue Oyster to white cardstock. Stamp butterflies. Layer largest butterfly over the butterfly stamped onto the tag. Gather bits of this ‘n’ that, adhering to the panel along with the smaller butterflies (I applied a touch of Vintage Lace to the scraps of Tissue Wrap). Finally coil a length of rusty tin wire to embellish the top of the panel.

Until next time,

Lynne
