Pop Goes The Butterfly by Donna Gray

Hello everyone,

Donna here with a pop art type card for you all today, with a bit of added grunginess of course!

Here’s What I Did:

Take a blank card, stamp with one of the Dina Wakley butterfly stamps using black Memento ink then mask it off. Now speaking of masking, we all have our own way but I’m now using Pebeo Masking Gum for mine.

Making sure that’s all dry, I then took a Kaisercaft stamp in black Archival and stamped over the masked butterfly image.

Once again, after everything is dry reach for you Distress Stains and go splat mad!! This is particularly satisfying if you’ve got some frustrations to let out as you have to bang them pretty hard to get them to splatter….great fun!

Dry off and then remove your masking gum and then proceed to colour the butterfly using Promarkers.

At this point I was disappointed the butterfly didn’t ‘stand out’ enough, so I edged it with a charcoal pencil and then went over it with a white, Sharpie paint pen until I was happy with it.

Cut some black card to add behind your main image, adhere everything to your card, add a sentiment from Tim Holtz Small Talk sticker book and away you go!

Hope you like it
