Don’t Worry, Be Happy by Fliss Goodwin

Hi there and Happy New Year everyone, I hope you all had a lovely time over the festive season and are raring to go on the creative side. I’ve got a rather retro style creation for you this week using some of the Carabelle Studio stamps in a different way with one of my favourite Stampendous images to make a decorative panel.

Archival Designer Series Ink – Watering Can, Fern Green
VersaMagic Chalk Inks – Pink Grapefruit, Pumpkin Spice, Sage, Spanish Olive, Thatched Straw
Thick Chipboard or Greyboard

·       Cut an A5 piece of stamping card and apply the chalk inks, starting with the Thatched Straw all over and then adding patches of the other colours until you’re happy with the effect. Cut into 3 pieces – 1 x 7cm wide, 1 x 4cm wide and the remaining piece will be around 3.5cm wide.

·       Stamp the widest piece with the largest stamp from the Carabelle set and the Fern Green Archival ink. Stamp the 4cm strip with the small floral image and the same ink. Stamp 4 extra images of the largest stamp on stamping card with the Fern ink and colour with the pink and green chalk inks, ensuring that you add plenty of pink for contrast. Cut the images out.

·       Stamp the Glance image on stamping card with the grey Archival ink making sure you leave some space on the right side as this will be tucked under the decorated paper. Colour with pencils and cut out leaving the right edge straight.

·       Cut an A5 piece of thick chipboard and glue the widest decorated strip to the left side. Glue the plain inked piece next to this. Without gluing, arrange the face and cut out flowers so that the main image sits partly over the first piece of background paper until you’re happy with the positioning and then glue in place. Stick on the remaining piece of background paper so that it partly covers some of the flowers.

·       Stamp the Way of Life text on a scrap of stamping card with the Fern ink and trim to a panel. Stamp with one of the floral doodle images and the yellow ink to tone in a little with the rest of the panel to finish.

See you next week.
