A Simple Thing Called Love by Lynne Moncrieff

Only days ago we were immersed in the festivities of the season but in the world of crafting matters move along so quickly because here I am, turning my attention to Valentine’s Day.

Supplies

White Gesso
Watercolour Paper – rough and smooth (or substitute smooth with white cardstock)
Artist Brush (small)
Extras:- MOP button, red ticking fabric and red embroidery floss (or substitute with Bakers Twine)

Instructions

Create cardbase from rough watercolour paper. Mask areas at top and bottom edge to create two exposed lines. Mix Romance paint with embossing paste. Apply to the unmasked areas with palette knife – work quickly by swiping the paste along the line, aiming for a loose, uneven application. Leave to dry.

I wanted a slightly distressed appearance to the heart so I applied Gesso to Kraft cardstock. You could simply stamp onto white cardstock. Once dry stamp heart. Paint areas of heart with Romance.

Stamp Love onto scrap of prepared cardstock. Adhere, with heart, to cardbase. Embellish heart with ticking and button.

No doubt, between now and the 14th of February I will be sharing more projects inspired by love.

Until next time,

Lynne

  9. The heart with the dash of red is beautiful. I love how you've left those few fraying threads just hanging - makes me think of a love that is not yet complete or perhaps not entirely over. . . . .
