Crazy Bird by Donna Ratcliff

I got out the fun ‘Feather Bird’ by Lost Coast Designs to play with today; also some Gelato’s only have a few of these and really don’t use them as much as I should! I’ve made my piece into a little notebook using a bind-it-all machine but you could just as easily decorate a cheap shop bought notebook.

What I used

Lost Coast Designs Stamps – Feather Bird
Artistic Outpost –
Chalkboard Wisdom

Gelato’s Mix and Match Designer Series -
Tropical

Embossing Ink
Black Embossing Powder

Black Archival Ink

What to do….

1. First of all take a rectangle of white card the size that you require for your notebook. Then stamp and heat emboss the Feather Bird in black………I also lightly sprinkled some black embossing powder over the surface before heating especially along the base to extend the baseline.

2. Now take your Gelato’s and scribble some colour in stripes at the top of the card then taking a brush and some water blend the colour a little and then add more water and let the colour run down your card…..the embossing acts as a resist. Leave to dry

3. Then stamp the wording from the Chalkboard Wisdom set onto another piece of card, make sure the ink is dry and then apply a light wash of the Gelato’s in stripes. Mount onto a piece of black card to help set it apart from the base.

4. Glue the words onto the base and either stick onto your bought notebook or create your own……or just use as a card topper.

Hope you have a lovely weekend and see you next week
