Butterfly, Butterfly by Fliss Goodwin

Hello there, I have a rather bright card to share this week, which as you see has quite a lot of butterflies. The Gelatos have come out to play again too and I’ve used them on the background as well as to paint the butterflies.

Here’s What You Need:

Papermania Urban Stamps – Butterflies, Doily
Faber Castell Gelatos – I used Red Cherry, Tangerine, Lemon and Cotton Candy, which you can find in the Designing With Gelatos Kit

Here’s How To:

·       First, make the background paper. Cut a piece of watercolour paper to fit your chosen card blank. Scribble on the Gelatos – I used the pink, orange and yellow. Mist with water and spread the colour with a large, flat paintbrush.

·       Stamp the butterflies image from the Stamp-It set in the top left corner with the orange ink. Next stamp on the script with the black ink, masking as necessary until you’ve stamped across the base and round the edges.

·       Stamp the doily on the background paper with the embossing ink and heat emboss with the white detail powder. Glue the paper to your card blank.

·       Stamp the trio of butterflies with the black ink onto smooth stamping card. Paint them with the red, blue and yellow Gelatos. I found the best way to get a good strong colour is to apply a wet brush direct to the top of the paint stick, repeating until your image is painted. Cut them out and add to the card, gluing to the doily.

Have a great weekend and see you next week. Don’t forget to check out our new challenge, which goes live at 8am and if you haven’t yet entered, it really is worth it as you could win a voucher for the online shop.

  1. I believed that doily to be a paper doily, you certainly fooled me!
A gorgeous burst of colour from the background right through to each of those pretty butterflies.
    Such a lovely card.
