Beautiful by Fliss Goodwin

Hello there, I’m taking a break from the Steampunk this week and have gone unashamedly girly for once with a canvas and one of my favourite Stampendous images. I’ve chosen a pastel colour scheme but this would work equally well in bright colours.

Here’s What You Need:

Hot Off The Press Bodacious Blooms Die Set
StazOn Fuchsia Pink Ink
8x8 Canvas Board
Scrap of Grey Card
Decorative Scissors

Here’s How To:

·       Using the mono printing plate, prepare a selection of papers with the pastel paints and set aside to dry. Use the bloom dies to die cut a variety of flowers from the papers. Scrunch them up a little for a shabby look and fix them together with some ready-made flowers.

·       Paint the canvas board with pink and yellow acrylics to achieve a slightly shabby effect and leave to dry.

·       Stamp the image on to smooth card with the Watering Can ink and colour with Aquamarkers and/or pencils. Trim to a rectangular panel.

·       Glue the image panel to the canvas and decorate with strips of washi tape to form a frame. I found that I ended up with slight ridges when doing this so I covered them with strips of grey card cut with pinking scissors.

·       Stamp around the edges of the canvas with the Arty texture stamp and the pink ink. I did this without an acrylic block as it’s easier to press the stamp down where you want the patterned areas.

·       Decorate the canvas with the flowers you have made and some ready-made flowers and butterflies die cut from the papers you made. Add pearls to the flower centres. I finished off with a text sticker but you could stamp text if you prefer.

Have a great weekend and see you next week.

Don’t forget to check out the Challenge Blog later as we have a new challenge for you later today.
