The Mermaid Fairy Tag by Alison Hall

Supplies...

Stamps -

Fresco Finish Paint - Snowflake, Mermaid, Chartreuse, Lilac
Archival Ink - Jet Black, Aquamarine
Friendly Plastic - Blue or Green
Tim Holtz Scissors
Paper Doily
Pearl Brad
Fibres
Rivet

Instructions...

1. Cut a tag from corrugated card, & tear away some of the top layer at the top & bottom.

2. Use Glue 'N Seal Matt to adhere torn scraps of music sheet, then brayer Snowflake Fresco Finish paint over the top.

3. Use the brayer to apply the Mermaid, Chartreuse, & Lilac Fresco Finish paint. Apply them one at a time, drying in between, so the colours don't get mixed.

4. Stamp the Prima lace border with Jet Black Archival ink, & the Prima doily with Aquamarine Archival ink, onto the tag, to make the background.

5. Stamp the Mermaid Fairy twice onto a painted piece of music sheet. My scrap of music sheet had colours from the tag, & a light application of Snowflake Fresco Finish paint.

6. Use Glossy Accents to adhere the Ideaology Fragment Charm over one of the images, then cut around it when dry. Cut around the other Mermaid Fairy, & put her aside.

7. Cut a piece of Friendly Plastic to fit the Fragment Charm, place it on a non-stick craft mat, then heat it with a heat gun until molten. Wet your fingers with cold water to protect them, then push the Fragment Charm into the molten Friendly Plastic, moulding it lightly around the charm. It's very important to have wet fingers for this step, to avoid them sticking to the hot plastic, & getting burnt.

8. Trim off any excess pieces of Friendly Plastic with scissors, then layer the Fragment Charm with the other Mermaid Fairy image, & a painted, stamped doily, using a pearl brad.

9. Stamp the Mermaid Fairy again on a blue scrap, cut out the words, & use Glossy Accents to glue them in place on the Fragment Charm.

10.  Glue the doily to the tag with Glossy Accents, then add a rivet & some fibres to finish.
