·       Stamp out the long stamp and two of the decorative strips onto the stamping card with the black Archival.

·       Measure the width of the long stamp and make the bookmark slightly larger than the stamped image, using the thick white card.

·       Take the bookmark and scrape (with a credit card) with a mixture of orange and pink paint. Dry with a heat tool. Using the mask, and some contrast paint (I’ve used yellow and turquoise) sponge through the flowers at the top and the bottom of the bookmark. Stamp the crackle onto the centre of the bookmark. Leave to one side.

·       Using the same paint colours, paint the background of the stamped image around the focal image on the stamped piece. This will blend the stamped image into the bookmark background.

·       Colour the remaining image with the watercolour pencils, as well as the decorative strips.

·       Adhere into position.

·       Add some PanPastels in gold. Edge with turquoise paint.

·       Finally add a tassle to the top.

  1. Far too beautiful to hide in a book! xxx

  2. Beautiful bookmark. I just saw this image on a website where you could purchase the image. It was already colored of course, which was disappointing because it's so much more fun to colors and it yourself. I was thrilled to see there was a stamp! Your explanations were very concise, but I don't understand the process listed in the south paragraph "paint the image out the focal image." could you clarify that? I'd love to make this. It's so beautiful and so well made. Thank you.

    2. Hi Kit, i meant to say paint the background of the stamped image AROUND the focal image using the same colours you painted the background so the background of the stamp blends into the background of the bookmark. HTH

  3. I'm sorry, I meant to say fourth paragraph, not south. Thank you.
