Do Princesses Clean?! by Alison Hall

Hi there! Here is my final guest designer art for May. Although, I'm excited to tell you that Laura has asked me to guest in June also So, in the words of Arnie... 'I'll be back!' :-)

Here are the ingredients...

Dylusions - Say It How It Is (On special this week!)
PaperArtsy Fresco Finish Paint - Bora Bora, Inky Pool, Autumn Fire & Chutney
Sizzix Tattered Lace Die
Distress Embossing Powder - Tea Dye

Here are the instructions...

1. Use the palette knife to apply Grunge Paste through the Mini Harlequin stencil, then dry thoroughly with a heat gun.

2. Base coat the board with Bora Bora Fresco, then paint Inky Pool over the top. Mix a little water with some Autumn Fire Fresco to create a milk-like consistency, then use a flat brush to apply a wash over the board. This gives a nice rusty look.

3. Die cut some tattered lace, paint it with Chutney Fresco, then once dry, emboss with the Tea Dye Distress Powder. Use Glossy Accents to glue pieces to the top & bottom of the board. Trim the edges.

4. Stamp the Princess Doll & the words onto white card, using Jet Black Archival Ink. Colour with Antique linen Distress Ink, then use a small brush to paint the Doll with Inky Pool & Autumn Fire Fresco. Cut the Doll & Words out.

5. Use Glossy Accents to glue the Doll & Words in place.

6. I finished off by painting the edges & back of the board with Chutney Fresco.

Thanks for all of your lovely comments & support this month, I'll be back next Wednesday with another piece of art.

  3. I love her and I so agree with the sentiment! I just wish I had the panache to 'sweep the room with a glance' myself! That kitchen floor looks as if it could do with more than just a glance! Fabulous techniques and a wonderful idea! So glad you're here in June too! Julie Ann xxx
