Telegraph Sam by Mandy C

Whilst looking through my stash I happened upon this book, it’s made of chipboard and the pages are around 4x4 in square.

Here’s my first page…. (you could make a card with a 4x4 square).

Timber Brown StazOn

The background of the first page in my mini altered book, began life as a second print from a gelli plate, I used a selection of blue and brown acrylics and this stencil.

·       I glued the background onto the book page, used the chalk inks to edge around the page.

·       Using the Timber Brown StazOn, I stamped the ‘telegraph’ word at the top of the page, then stamped the script type stamp from the Oxford Impressions set randomly across the page to create the background.

·       Using the Black Archival and the male figure of the set, stamp onto your white stamping card. Trim the image. Edge with brown chalk ink. I wasn’t keen on the severity of the cutting out so I attached the image to an old book page and torn around it to make it a little more subtle. Edge with brown chalk ink. Colour with watercolour pencils.  Adhere onto the right hand side of the page.

·       Stamp some cogs onto the corners using the Black Archival.

·       Stamp the key, cut out and adhere into place.

·       Add some metallic lustre around the edges of the page, then apply some copper Pan Pastels around the edge and also around the man.

·       Finally, add a bit more of the brown chalk ink around the edge of the page.

  1. A really handy tip about adding the torn edged book page to soften the outline, thank you :-)
