Botanical by Fliss Goodwin

Hello there, I have a nature themed creation for you this week in Spring shades to show you just one thing that can be made with a set of very versatile Papermania cling stamps.

Here’s What You Need:

Distress Inks – Shabby Shutters, Crushed Olive, Wild Honey
Scraps of Green and Yellow Card
Distress Markers – Crushed Olive, Wild Honey
Paintbrushes

Here’s How To:

·       Cut a piece of stamping card to fit your chosen card blank and then paint roughly with a layer of gesso. When the paint is dry, sponge on the 2 shades of green ink, starting with the lighter first and then adding the darker shade mostly around the edges.

·       Stamp the flower sprigs across the bottom of the coloured card with the Spanish Moss ink. Add a further layer by stamping over the top of the previous images, and stamping off the base of the card as shown in the photo.

·       Next, stamp on the letter text. As the stamp is smaller than the area needing covering, start stamping just above the flower sprigs and right across the card. Repeat the layer above this, lining up the base of the image as it won’t all fit on the card if yours is square like mine.

·       Stamp the trio of butterflies and the pocket watch collage on scraps of stamping card with the green ink. Add colour with the Aquamarkers and Distress Markers (I doodled on the plain butterfly to add interest). Trim the collage panel to a rectangle and then sponge on Shabby Shutters and Wild Honey inks to add more colour.

·       Mat the collage panel on a scrap of yellow card and on green card die cut with medium sized ornate frame die. Add the background paper and matted panel to the card. Cut out the butterflies and arrange on the card as you like.

Have a great weekend and see you next week.
