Imagine by Fliss Goodwin

Hi there, I have a vintage creation for you this week as I’ve been playing with my Stampendous Creative Palette again and this time I tried it out with Distress Stains and Inks and it works a treat. It gives quite a grungy look, which is perfect for a vintage style card.

Here’s What You Need:

Stamps Used:

Kaisercraft Clear Stamps – Lattice, Honeycomb, Butterflies

Distress Inks – Wild Honey, Victorian Velvet, Antique Linen, Worn Lipstick
Distress Stains – Spun Sugar, Scattered Straw, Victorian Velvet
Smooth Stamping Card
Flourish Dies, Oval Die
Lace

Here’s How To:

·       First make the background paper using the mono printing plate. Cut a piece of watercolour paper to fit your chosen card blank – mine is 8x8. Apply dabs of the Distress Stains to the printing plate using the Scattered Straw and Spun Sugar in the centre and the Victorian Velvet around the outside. Mist lightly with water and brush water on to the paper before making the print. This helps the stains to be absorbed well. Repeat until the paper is covered.

·       When the paper is dry (use a heat gun if you’re impatient like me!), apply the Distress inks around the edges to deepen the colours as you like. Stamp the lattice design around the edges with the grapefruit ink. Stamp the honeycomb design with the Worn Lipstick ink. Repeat the lattice design with the coffee ink without using an acrylic block for a vintage effect. I also stamped some partial circles with a lid.

·       Stamp the image on to smooth stamping card with the coffee ink and then colour. I used coloured pencils but you could use whatever is your favourite. Die cut to an oval then ink round the edge with the clear dabber and heat emboss with the Fran-tage enamel.

·       Die cut some flourishes from your choice of paper. I used scraps from my bits box as they’re ideal for die cutting. Stamp a butterfly on a further scrap and cut out.

·       Assemble the card as you see adding lace and flowers with pearl centres together with some text stickers to finish.

Have a great day and don’t forget to check out our next challenge which starts today.

  1. It is grungy but at the same time a lovely time worn, gentle appearance - so pretty.
