Her Beautiful Heart by Lynne Moncrieff

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching I thought it was time to share a heart, in the form of a fabric padded heart with the use of a photo real stamp and Lesley Riley’s TAP.

SUPPLIES

Archival Jet Black
Various Beads
Extras:- batting/wadding, lace, lace flowers, cotton fabric (I re-cycled curtain backing), thread and feather

INSTRUCTIONS

We all have our own ways and techniques but for me, when working with photo real stamps, it is worthwhile investing in a Speedball brayer. This brayer I keep aside for only inking stamps, I don’t allow paint (for my Gelli Plate) to go anywhere near it!

Cut heart from batting. Layer various pieces of lace and handstitch (or machine stitch).  Trim the heart’s edge with lace. I hand-stitched the lace but you could adhere with Gel Medium.

Ink up Lily Elsie (Oxford Impressions) with Archival ink with a Speedball brayer and stamp onto Lesley Riley’s TAP. Follow the instructions to transfer to cotton fabric.

Adhere to heart with Gel Medium and trap a feather behind the image.

Edge the image with lace.

Only ink up the word ‘beautiful’ from the sentiment stamp with StazOn ink and stamp onto scrap of cotton fabric and adhere to the heart.

Stitch lace to the heart to create a hanging. Embellish the heart by stitching beads or adhere with Gel Medium. Decorate further with fabric flowers.

Wishes,

Lynne
