A Country Girl At Heart by Fliss Goodwin

Hi there, I have a little rustic canvas for you this week which came about because I was trying to think of something rather different to do with one of the sweet girls from the Oxford Impressions China Dolls stamp set. I came across the second of my Tim Holtz burlap canvasses when rummaging through my stash and inspiration struck. I hope you like the result.

Here’s What You Need:

Stamps Used:

Tim Holtz Burlap Canvas (there are 2 in the set)
Distress Stains – Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Dried Marigold, Crushed Olive, Rusty Hinge, Pumice Stone
Wooden Heart – the Studio Calico Hearts are lovely
Crochet Lace
Brown Gingham Ribbon

Here’s How To:

·       Stamp the girl with pearls image on the smooth card with the coffee ink and set aside to dry.

·       Stamp the sunflower background with the same ink and allow the image to dry. Paint with the Distress Stains using the lightest colour first all over. Use the darker yellow around the edges and the orange just around the flower centres. Paint the centres with a mixture of the rust and grey. Add green around the flowers and tear the panel round the edges.

·      Wrap and secure the lace and gingham ribbon round the bottom of the canvas, then stick on the sunflower panel and the image which I trimmed by hand with scissors.

·       Stain the wooden heart with the Vintage Photo ink and add at the right side of the image panel to finish.

Have a great day and a lovely weekend.

Fliss xx
