Vintage Beauty By Fliss Goodwin

I have a card for you this week which considering it’s now firmly Autumn, has a decidedly Spring feel to it although my defence is that you can get Winter flowering pansies. As soon as I saw the gorgeous floral borders set by Deep Red with 2 of my favourite flowers I had to have it and I hope you like what I made.

Here’s What You Need:

Stamps Used:

Deep Red Cling Stamps – Pansy Borders, Vintage Style
Kaisercraft Clear Single Stamp – Damask
Distress Inks – Tattered Rose, Milled Lavender, Seedless Preserves, Crushed Olive, Scattered Straw
Square Card Blank

Here’s How To:

Cut a square of the card to fit your card blank and sponge Tattered Rose Distress ink all over. Stamp the damask design all over, twisting as you go, using the Milled Lavender ink. This gives quite a soft, textured look.

Stamp the pansy border on the smooth card with the VersaFine purple ink. When dry, colour the pansies with shades of purple with deep yellow in the centres. Cut them out leaving a narrow white border.

Stamp the vintage lady with the same purple ink, colour her with AquaMarkers, trim to a rectangle and sponge with some Distress inks as you like. Cut a slightly larger rectangle of card, sponge the edges with Milled Lavender and use this to mat the image panel.

Cut a bar of card to fit the card width and larger either side of the pansy border. Sponge with Crushed Olive Distress ink then sponge a little of the ink round the pansies and stick the border to the coloured card bar.

Die cut 2 large flourishes and colour with the purple shades of Distress ink. Stamp the text with the VersaFine ink, cut out round it and sponge with Scattered Straw. Assemble the card with a mix of double sided and foam tape and tuck the flourishes under the text.

Have a great weekend,
