British Bulldog Calendar by Donna Ratcliff

We would like to wish Donna, who is our guest designer for October, a very warm welcome.

1.    Stamp Alice Palace’s British Bulldog from Crafty Individuals on a piece of smooth white card and colour with ProMarkers - colours used Tan, Caramel, Sandstone, Azure, Duck Egg, Tulip Yellow, Soft Lime and Poppy. Once coloured, cut out all the images.

2.    Take a square piece of card approx. 4 ½” square and lightly ink with Distress Inks – Brushed Corduroy, Fired Brick, Tumbled Glass and Black Soot. Then randomly stamp using same inks, some background texture using Kaisercraft Clear Stamps – Lattice, Distress and Grid. Glue the Bulldog, bunting and wording to finished square. Cut a little piece of white card, lightly ink to match the background and add the words ‘Made in Britain’, fold the piece in half and stick to side of square to form a little tab.

3.    Then take a piece of recycled corrugated cardboard packaging, slightly larger than your square, gently tear some of the top covering off to expose the corrugations. Paint cardboard with a mixture of Salty Ocean and Antique Linen Distress Paint, when dry, lightly ink edges with Brushed Corduroy and Black Soot Distress Ink.  Take another piece of packaging slightly larger than your small calendar and repeat the treatment.

4.    Glue your stamped square to the large cardboard backing piece and your calendar to the smaller piece.

5.    Punch some holes at the top and bottom of your main piece and in the top of your smaller bottom section, add eyelets and join pieces together using jump rings. Add a piece of silver chain as a hanger.
