Celebration of Women by Mandy C

This week I wanted to make something to celebrate women as it’s National Women’s Day on 9th August in South Africa but I do believe we should have an international day of Wonderful Women!

Distress Paint ~ Wild Honey
Oxford Impressions ~ London Telegraph (Pacific Iron Works script)
Oxford Impressions ~ Times Past (passport number)
Crafty Individuals CI347
Old Book Page
Gold Gel Pen
Collage Image/Stamped Image

v    Cut a piece of card to a 6 x 4 inch size.

v    Use the Distress paint first over the entire postcard. Dry.

v    Spray the two Cosmic Shimmer  over the painted postcard. Dry. The Cosmic Shimmer gives a really lovely shimmer.

v    Stamp the ‘Pacific Iron Works script’ over the background using the grey StazOn. It doesn’t show up much but it really does give some texture.

v    Position your collage image on the background to see where you want to put your stamped images. When you’ve decided where to put the woman image, take away the image and begin stamping the background.

v    Firstly, stamp the butterfly stamp from Crafty Individuals with the Coffee Archival ink. Dry and then colour with some watercolour pencils.

v    Stick the collage image in place and then add a couple of torn bits of the old book page.

v    Stamp the passport number in coffee Archival ink at the bottom right hand corner. And then use the floral flourishes to add interest around the edge.

v    Ink around the edge with ‘Old Road’ chalk ink.

v    Highlight with the gold and white gel pen.

  1. A really gorgeous and detailed background for the lovely lady Mandy. So beautiful.
