Clean and Simple One Layer Card and Tags by Deborah

There’s little point in writing a ‘how to’ as it’s pretty obvious I just stamped the images in various coloured inks and used orange pencil to colour the body and dots on the butterfly.

For a crafter as mucky as I am, keeping it clean and simple is harder than creating with layers and texture. So it was a challenge I wanted to meet.

Another challenge was using the butterfly net inventively as, among my stamps, I don’t have a suitable figure to hold it. I decided to stamp it in a way that suggests a sequence of failed attempts to net the butterfly. Alternatively, there could be three children of varying heights, just off the page, trying to catch it. And yes, the butterfly is too big for the net anyway – maybe that’s why it’s ‘one of a kind’ :-)

I stamped some mini tags, bought from a stationer, in the same simple style. They could be tied to gifts intended for the recipient of the card.
