Birds Nest By Fliss Goodwin

Another fairly simple creation from me this week using a favourite Stampendous bird stamp and a Distress ink background all prettied up with a doily. You could easily substitute the text I used for any sentiment, as the card is suitable for all sorts of occasions, including a new home or baby theme.

Here’s What You Need:

Stampendous Cling Stamps – Bird Frame and Minuet Bird
Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass, Broken Chine, Stormy Sky
Off White Doily

Here’s How To:

1.    Stamp the bird frame image on to manila cardstock with the coffee ink and set aside to dry. Cut into a panel by trimming a little distance out around the image.
2.    Cut a 15cm square (approximately) of white or cream card to fit the card blank. Dab patches of the Distress inks on the craft sheet starting with the lightest colour. Spray with water and then press the card into the diluted ink. Dry with a heat gun and repeat until the ink gives good coverage. It gave mine a speckled appearance a little like birds’ eggs.

3.    Using the minuet bird image, ink up just the music score section (wipe the ink off the bird’s feet as you go) with the Stormy Sky Distress ink and stamp repeatedly at random on the inked card.

4.    Stamp the text from the PaperArtsy set (or your chosen sentiment) on a scrap of manila card with the coffee ink and trim to a panel.

5.    Assemble the card as you see in the photo, adding the doily under the bird frame panel.

Have a great weekend.
